Paita is a small port city on the coast of northern Peru, about 30 miles from Sullana. The church we have recently worked with in Sullana started Bethel Baptist Church in Paita in the late 1980's when a fellow named Elfer Ato graduated from the seminary in Trujillo and went to Paita as a missionary church planter. The church has grown tremendously since its initiation and is now the largest evangelical church in the city. The have a Christian school with over 500 students.

Segundo Rodriguez and I will preach a four-night campaign for the church starting May 1st. The plan is that while one of us is preaching at the church the other will be preaching in a separate district at one of the daughter churches/church plants. We also plan to hold a training seminar for leaders on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for all those involved in the leadership of the church and school.
